Germany's Kessler twins, who became dance stars in the 50s and 60s, die at 89

Indigenous artist commissioned for major celebrities in retro find

Rabbit Ears Productions was responsible for teaching many '90s kids about legends, folklore and fairy tales. The animated short films featured many popular celebrities voicing characters or narrating the story. In 1991, the company commissioned artwork as a gift to celebrities who worked on the project. Native American artist Anahwake Nahtanaba (affiliated with the Caddo tribe) created personalized Pueblo Storyteller sculptures for each of the actors. People like Robin Williams, Glenn Close and Denzel Washington received a ceramic sculpture. Native American Heritage Month is celebrated in November. New Hampshire ensemble to perform at Macy's Thanksgiving Parade

This year, the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps ensemble will march in the parade. The Nashua-based group applied as part of its 70th anniversary celebration. Hosting a rehearsal once a month since September, close to 200 members of the marching band, honor guard, and more held their final practice at Bishop Guertin High School Sunday afternoon. The Corps started in 1955 as a community-based nonprofit created with a focus on keeping at-risk youths off the streets, without any affiliation to schools or government institutions. Corps president Paul LaFlamme's grandfather was the founder.
